Use cases

The kinds of sites we work on, and what goes into them.

Panoramic CCTV in gaming rooms, multi-screen sports bars, hotel TV distribution, rooftop headends and the networks underneath them. Below is what a job on each type of premises usually involves, so you can find the one that looks like yours.

These are typical scopes rather than named jobs. Every site gets its own survey and its own quote, and most of our work is on venues whose owners would rather we did not publish their camera positions.

Sports bars and public bars

A bar running the footy across a wall of screens, with music in the beer garden and a microphone for raffle nights, all from behind the bar.

Typically involves

  • Commercial displays sized and mounted for viewing distance and glare
  • Matrix distribution so any source reaches any screen
  • Zoned background music with separate levels for bar, bistro and beer garden
  • One simple control panel staff can use without a manual

Staff change what is on which screen in seconds, and nobody needs to find the remote.

Licensed venues and gaming rooms

A venue that has to satisfy NT Gaming and Liquor Licensing: coverage of every entry, the bar, the gaming area and cash handling, at a quality that identifies faces.

Typically involves

  • Site survey mapping coverage against the licence conditions
  • Panoramic and PTZ cameras chosen to cover more floor with fewer units
  • NVR and storage sized for the retention period the licence requires
  • Remote viewing for owners and duty managers, set up at handover

When an inspector or an insurer asks for footage, it is there and it is usable.

Hotels, motels and accommodation

Guest rooms that need a clean picture on every channel, Foxtel where the guests expect it, and AV in the conference room that works without a technician standing by.

Typically involves

  • Headend and in-room TV distribution across all rooms and common areas
  • Foxtel for Business and Foxtel MDU as an approved installer
  • Lobby and conference room displays, projectors and sound
  • Work staged around trading hours so rooms stay sellable

Guests stop calling reception about the television.

Apartments & body corporate · MATV & TV distribution

Apartment buildings and body corporates

A multi-dwelling building where one rooftop system feeds every unit, and the committee needs it fixed once rather than patched every wet season.

Typically involves

  • MATV and SMATV headend replacement or upgrade
  • Foxtel MDU systems for multi-dwelling buildings
  • Common-area CCTV, car park coverage and intercom cabling
  • Cyclone-rated rooftop mounts and UV-stable cabling for the build-up

One contractor the committee can call, and documentation of what is actually installed.

Office & commercial site · Networking & data cabling

Offices, retail and commercial premises

A business fitting out a new tenancy or fixing a network that grew by accident, where the cabinet is the difference between a tidy system and a decade of guesswork.

Typically involves

  • Structured data cabling, patch panels and a labelled rack
  • Commercial Wi-Fi designed for the floor plan, not guessed at
  • Point-to-point wireless links between buildings on one site
  • As-built documentation handed over at completion

The next person who opens the cabinet can see what everything does.

Multi-site operator · CCTV remote monitoring

Venue groups and multi-site operators

An operator running several venues who cannot personally check that every camera at every site is still recording.

Typically involves

  • CheckMyCCTV health monitoring across all sites
  • Automatic alerts when a camera drops, a drive fails or recording stops
  • Scheduled cleaning and testing built into a maintenance agreement
  • Compliance reporting for gaming and liquor licensing

A failed camera is a job we book, not a discovery you make after an incident.

Home & domestic · Antennas & satellite

Homes, antennas and satellite

Signal Master started in antennas and still does domestic work around the commercial jobs: a picture that breaks up, extra TV points, or a dish that moved in the last blow.

Typically involves

  • Digital antenna installation, replacement and realignment
  • Additional TV points and tidy internal cabling
  • Satellite dish installation and VAST for remote reception
  • Reception faults diagnosed rather than guessed at

Call and ask. If we cannot fit it in, we will tell you straight away.
